Gyozas, the Japanese dumplings π―π΅
Ingredients needed for the dough :
- 100Β g of flours per person
- 60 ml of hot water per person
- Half of a teaspoon of salt per person
- An inch of baking soda
Ingredients needed for the stuffing:
- Teaspoon of fresh ginger or ginger powder
- Teaspoon of chilly pepper (fresh or powder)
- 100-150 g of porc / chicken meet / tofu / shrimps per person
- 1 carrots per person
- Few mushrooms
- Some leafs of cabbages
- 1 oignons
- 2 gloves of garlic
How to do the dough:
- Mix the flour, water, salt and baking soda and knead the dough during 5 to 10 min
- Let the dough rest for an hour or two
- Spread the dough using a roller to do a dough of few mm of thickness
- Using a glass or a cookie cutter, do circles of 8 to 9 cm of diameter
How to make the stuffing:
- Cut all the ingredients in really small pieces and mix up all of them in order to have as a result a ball
Prepare the Gyozas:
- Once you have your circles and the stuffing ready, feel each of the circle with 1 spoon of it and close the circle by putting some water on the edge and create the form you want for the gyozas.
How to cook the Gyozas:
- If you have a bamboo steamer, put the gyozas inside and cook them during 3 to 5 min, then put it on a pan and cover the gyozas for 1-2 min to brown them on one side.
- If you don't have bamboo steamer, you can use a pan, fill it with some water, be careful to put only few mm of water in the pan. Then, put the gyozas, cover them during 3 to 5 min and let them brown as well for few more min.
And it is done ! Now you have your gyozas and you can eat them with a soja sauce and some sesame seeds and green oignons as a toppings.
