Swedish meatballs and potatoes πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ

Ingredients for the Meatballs:

  • 125 g of minced meat per person
  • 1 egg
  • 30 grams of breadcrumbs for one portion
  • 25 ml of milk per portion
  • Onion
  • Garlic

Ingredients for the potatoes:

  • Preference for potatoes that roast well in the oven
  • Shop-stick

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • Mushrooms
  • Wine
  • 1 spoon of corn starch
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Parsley

Recipe:

  • Prepare the potatoes by putting the shop-stick around the potatoes on the bottom and top part
  • Cut fine slices in the potatoes and be careful to not cut the potatoes in half with the help of the shop-sticks
  • Season it with salt, pepper & olive oil and put in the oven at 190Β° for 30-45 min
  • For the meatballs, stir the minced meat, egg, breadcrumbs, milk and the chopped onion & garlic and create balls of 80g
  • In a pan or pot, on medium eat, put a bit of olive oil put the meatballs and cover them for 5 min
  • After 5 min turn the meatballs and cover again for 5 min and then reserve them for later
  • Time to do the sauce, in the same pot or pan but the onions, garlic, parsley and mushrooms that are chopped, cook them for few minutes
  • Add up the wine and wait for reduction (5 to 10 min depending on the heat)
  • Bland the sauce, if you don't have blender leave it like this
  • Add the corn starch and stir it a bit to have a homogeneous sauce
  • Put back the meatballs in the sauce and cover it for 5 min
  • Serve them with the potatoes

Recommendations:

  • I like to serve it with glazed veggies such as carrots
  • To do glazed veggies, boil water in a pot, add some sugar, put your veggies and cover the top with a cooking paper with a little hole in the middle, let it cook for 15 min then remove the paper and cook it again for 10 more minutes.
