Pita bread, an Arabic bread

Ingredients needed for 5 Pita bread:

  • 200Β g of flour
  • 100 g of warm water
  • 6g of dried baker's yeast
  • 1 coffee spoon of honey
  • 1 pinched of slat
  • 1 spoon of olive oil

How to do the Pita:

  • Stir in a ball the yeast, honey and water and wait 10 min
  • Add up this mixture to the flour in a big ball and knead the paste during 5 to 10 min until you get a smooth ball
  • Let the ball rest for 1 hour in a hot spot (can be in a oven turned off) and cover the big ball
  • After 1 hour the paste should have double or triple the volume
  • Knead the paste for 1 or 2 min again
  • Cut the paste into portion of 70 g
  • Use a bakery cook to spread the portion with 3 to 5 mm of thickness
  • Let for 5 to 10 min rest the pita breads you mate before baking them
  • After these 10 min, take a pan, high heat and bake each pita until it is becoming golden on both faces
